Practice exercise for team work training
The ISF mandate from the Government of Timor-Leste requires it to be called upon as third tier response in the event of an incident. If a situation cannot be effectively handled by Timorese police or UNPOL then UNPOL will call upon the ISF.

Section training for infantry during Operation Astute
Twenty-one soldiers are currently undertaking a subject for promotion while serving on Operation Astute in Timor Leste. The course takes six weeks part-time with four day modules spent in formal training each week and the remaining three days spent doing normal duties with their section while being assessed by their leadership.

ISF soccer team
ISF Engineers recently completed restoration of a soccer ground at the Village of Bazartette about one hour from Dili, by car. To christen the field a friendly match was played between an ISF team and local youths. The match could have gone either way, but in the end the ISF team won four goals to three. Over 200 locals turned up to cheer on their team. The day was a great success.
