The Australian Intelligence Corps provides knowledge and understanding of the terrain, weather, activities, capabilities and intentions of an actual or potential threat. Intelligence is fundamental to the planning and conduct of operations through the provision of counterintelligence activity.
Australian Intelligence Corps has very strong links to the intelligence branches of the Royal Australian Navy and Royal Australian Air Force.
Australian Intelligence Corps personnel are employed in a range of specialist roles including:
- combat, geospatial, signals and human intelligence
- counterintelligence
- multi-media design and production
- source analysis
- cyber threat intelligence
- psychological operations
- exploitation operations.
The Australian Intelligence Corps was formed on 6 December 1907 and is one of the oldest Commonwealth Intelligence Corps.
