Australian Defence Force helicopter activities

Australian Army Aviation will be conducting an abbreviate nine ship flying practice within the Darling Downs area in preparation for Anzac Day, between 1:30pm and 4:30pm on 20 April 2023.

On Anzac Day CH-47 Chinooks, Tiger armed reconnaissance helicopters and MRH90 Taipans will conduct a nine ship fly past 8:30am and 11:30am on 25 April 2023.

The fly past can be viewed by residents at:

  • Kiamkillenbun 
  • Jandowae 
  • Warra 
  • Macalister 
  • Dalby 
  • Cecil Plains 
  • Millmerran 
  • Leyburn 
  • Clifton 
  • Pittsworth 
  • Toowoomba 
  • Highfields 
  • Crows Nest 
  • Yarraman 
  • Cooyar
  • Oakey.

All aircraft activities are conducted within strict safety and operational guidelines.

The flying activity schedule is subject to change, including short notice cancellation, due to variables such as air traffic control, weather and other aviation considerations.

Safety, noise management and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of Defence flying activities.

Noise disturbances will be minimised where possible and the ADF thanks the public for their patience and cooperation.
