Army training activity

Australian Army personnel from 12/40 Royal Tasmania Regiment will be conducting its annual exercise Egypt I which will generate noise on Stony Head Training Area from 13th to 14th April 2024.

These activities will involve high explosive weapons and live fire shoots throughout the day and night. 

People who hear explosions and noise near this location are not under any form of actual threat. The public should not be alarmed if they hear any shooting from this area.

This training is essential to maintain the world class capabilities the Australian Defence Force provides the Government in defence of the nation.

The Australian Defence Force thanks the public for their patience and cooperation while this essential training is being conducted.
