Australian Defence Force helicopter activities - Anzac Day flyovers

16th Aviation Brigade will conduct flying operations in support of ANZAC Day 2025 in the Western Downs and the Darling Downs regions.

Up to six aircraft including Royal Singapore Air Force CH-47 Chinooks and Australian Army Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopters will operate in and around the Western Downs and Darling Downs region.

Rehearsal for the fly over will take place from Wednesday the 23rd of April 2025.

On Anzac Day the community can expect increased aircraft movement and associated noise from 09:00am over the areas of:

  • Warra
  • Kaimkillenbun
  • Oakey
  • Toowoomba
  • Highfields
  • Yarraman

All aircraft activities are conducted within strict safety and operational guidelines.

The flying activity schedule is subject to change, including short notice cancellation, due to variables such as air traffic control, weather and other aviation considerations.

Safety, noise management and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of Defence flying activities.

Noise disturbances will be minimised where possible and Defence thanks the public for their patience and cooperation during this auspicious event.

Members of the public can access further information regarding aircraft noise at https://www.defence.gov.au/aircraftnoise/ or by calling 1800 033 200.
